  Conran Hares, Hens and Clouds
Julieann was commissioned by the Conran Shop to make 50 new scribbly wire sculptures of hares, hens, chicks and clouds for the flagship store in Chelsea, London. The sculpture installation is on display from March 26th to early May 2012.
 
Splacism intervention Birmingham
Julieann is a selected artist for Birmingham's Building Schools for the Future programme and spent November 30th in Birmingham with a group of invited artists and architects to investigate the Splacist manifesto (spaces/places reclaiming our towns and cities)at MADE. In this picture is artist Nikki Pugh who led the event.

  School Wire Sculpture Workshop
A leaping wire fox designed and made by a pupil during one of Julieann's one day wire sculpture workshops. Julieann can run one day sculpture workshops for pupils from Year 5 upwards in schools and colleges within 30 miles of Pewsey, Wiltshire.
  Made to Last
Made to Last. Salisbury Cathedral, May 2011. Julieann was commissioned to create a sculpture inspired by, and incorporating, a pair of original shoe lasts for this Salisbury Festival Exhibition. The wire figure represents the essence of the last maker.
 
The Green of the Spring
The Green of the Spring. Watermill Theatre, June 2011. Julieann designed the set and costumes and ran mask making workshops with over 100 children from the West Berkshire Federation of Small Schools for this theatre production about WW1.

Lay Your Sleeping Head
This is the third show that I have designed at the Watermill Theatre in Newbury. A rather poignant play about 3 generations of a family, from the late 1930's to the present day, based in the family farmhouse kitchen. You won't believe the trouble we had finding drab, brown lino! Many thanks to John Lewis of Hungerford for supplying the sink unit and Antiques and Tat of Marlborough for lending the beautiful Welsh Dresser. 2009
  Willow and Wire sculpture workshops
Julieann has extensive experience of running workshops and making sculptures. She has developed her own unique technique which she shares with workshop participants on her occasional one day workshops. Workshops take place in a lovely old barn adjacent to Puckshipton House in Wiltshire. In addition to making your own sculpture you will enjoy tasty home cooked food and refreshments and peaceful, rural surroundings.   Hare on Hound
A wire sculpture commissioned for the Hare and Hounds pub in Richmond. 80cm tall.
  Hare & Hounds Pub in Richmond, London
This seated, wire hare sculpture was commissioned to sit at the entrance to the pub. It is over 2 metres tall. A further 13 wire hare and hound sculptures were made for the interior.
 
Woodborough School Mosaic
The whole school mosaic panel in progress. Every child in the school worked on this large mosaic which will be installed on the wall in the new school building. 2009
  Year 6 Willow Elephant Sculpture
One of the year 6 pupils from South Wonston primary School with his sculpture. Made during a project towards the creation of a large scale outdoor living willow sculpture for the school grounds.
  The King & Queen of Sugar Street
“This dynamic little venue is a theatrical hot spot.” - The Guardian. Julieann designed the set and costumes for this Watermill Theatre outreach production which involved pupils from seven primary schools in West Berkshire. She also ran design workshops in the schools, working with pupils in years 5 and 6 to design their own school flag using personal symbolism.
  Watermill Boxing Hares  2000
One of a pair of 3 metre tall willow, steel and rubber boxing hares in the collection of the Watermill theatre, Newbury. These were the first, large scale hares I made to commission, inspired by my first experience of being part of a theatre production and seeing hares in the fields around the Watermill. Look out for the Harum Scarum life sized, willow hare sculptures on the cover of Marlborough Town & Country in March 2009 and also in Diarmuid Gavin's March/April Garden Design Magazine. Nick and Julieann's work has been featured in many magazines and newspapers over the last couple of years including, Country Life, Country Living, Gardens Illustrated, Crafts, Wiltshire Life, The Guardian, The Times, The Telegraph.
  Boxing Hares at RUH Bath Hospital
These 2, new, wire boxing hares are each around 5 feet long. They are on display in the first interior courtyard as you enter the hospital through the main entrance.
  Norwood Triangle
Julieann, in collaboration with writer Ade Morris, has had her design shortlisted for a public sculpture at Norwood Triangle in Cheltenham. The site was once a goods tram junction and Julieann's proposed sculpture and inlaid paving celebrates the historical facts of the tramroad and the lives of those who lived and worked on and around it.
  Sprouting Seed
The initial sketch and one of the finished sculptures. Granite standing stone, steel frame, living and non living willow. 5 metres tall. The national Forest Sculpture Trail 2001.
 
Landmark Gateway Sculpture design
This was an initial design proposal for gateway sculptures at the Cotswold Water Park.
  Making Waves
A sculptural, onion dome shelter and wave screen commissioned by Stratford upon Avon District Council and British Waterways. Made out of steel, willow with recycled rubber and car trimmings donated by local companies. Situated along the banks of the Stratford canal.
  Willow Wall
A design for a living and non living willow wall to screen building works in a public square in Barking, London. The design incorporates a willow leaf motif in relief.
  Bittern Landmark Sculptures
Commissioned by the Cotswold Water Park to mark the entrances to Sustrans Cycle Route 45. 2008. Laser cut, folded, welded and painted steel Bitterns, 3m tall.
 
Public Open Space. Bristol
Julieann was commissioned by Barratt Homes to design an artistic intervention for a new public open space within a housing development in Bristol. The design concept was inspired by 1930's window patterns found in neighbourhood houses with the pathways following the shapes of a 30's floral design and a seating area with sculptural planting and a paving mosaic depicting scenes from local history.
  Basingstoke newt Mosaics
Commissioned by David Wilson Homes to create a public plaza within a new housing development in Basingstoke. 2008. Sectional paving mosaics set in resin bonded gravel.
  Thomsons hares
A pair of painted willow and wire boxing hares on display above the entrance to Thomsons Delicatessen in Pewsey.

  Daylesford Organic Scarecrow
Julieann, with technical asssistance from Peter Sellwood, was commissioned by Lady Carole Bamford of Daylesford Organic to design and make a quirky, kinetic willow scarecrow for the award winning Summer Solstice Show garden, Chelsea Flower Show 2008. Julieann's willow hens and cockerels can be seen at Daylesford Farm Shop.

   Flowery Meads
A collaborative installion by Julieann and Nick Hood. A series of 7 mini wild flower meadows with real wild flowers and an installation of symbolic wild flowers on carbon fibre stems with words from the poem The Romance of the Rose hand printed onto them.  Mobile Hide
Made during Julieann’s Year of the Artist residency with Wiltshire Wildlife Trust in Oakfrith Wood, Wiltshire and used by the B.B.C Natural History Unit for Bill Oddie’s Wild Days Out.

  Laser cut steel heart
Part of the Flowery Meads garden installation at the Watermill Theatre. March - July 2006. Julieann likes the way that laser cutting can translate the lines of a drawing perfectly into a solid, steel object.
  River of Dreams Set
In 2007 Julieann designed her first full theatre production for the acclaimed Watermill Theatre in Newbury. The set design cosisted of large floating ‘bubbles’ which took on different appearances through use of lighting and projection.

Pebble and glass tesserae stepping stones in the grounds of the Watermill Theatre, Newbury. Bearing the words 'Tread softly for you tread upon my dreams'. Commissioned by the James Sargant of the Watermill Theatre to celebrate the life and work of his wife, artistic director Jill Fraser. 2008
  Pebble mosaic in progress
A commission from Kingfisher Housing Association, Basingstoke for paving mosaic to create landmarks and features on a new housing development. The mosaic sections depicted fragments of slow worms and bats; both creatures had been rehomed to make way for the new houses.
 
Mosaic public art commission
Julieann has completed several mosaic public art commissions for Kingfisher Housing Association and Basingstoke District Council. This one is a series of pebble and Italian glass mosaic slab stepping stones for a new housing development and is inspired by slow worms.
  Jack the Treacle Eater rag rug
As artist in residence for a year to Somerset Julieann worked with women in isolated rural communities on a wide range of art projects. All were inspired by the locality, parish maps in all shapes and sizes and materials. This huge rag rug covers the end wall of Barwick village hall and depicts a local legend.
  School Mosaic Tiger
Large, shaped mosaic tiger designed and made by the pupils of South Wonston Primary School, Winchester. During a 3 week residency Julieann worked with all 300 pupils in the school to design and make over 20 large, shaped mosaics.

Mosaic and Maths
A series of mosaics designed and made by children in each of 5 primary school classes.The design element combined measuring the height of all children in each class, calculating the average and then designing a symbolic figure for each class, inspired by 5 different contemporary abstract painters.

  Creativity in the Primary curriculum
In 2005 Julieann worked with year 3 class teacher Abi Waller to research into whether a more creative approach to the science curriculum lead to increased deep perceptual learning. Working for one term with a year three class and then for a week with the whole school on the life cycle of plants topic using visual arts, drama, puppetry, carnival and film.
  Wishing Man
As part of an Environmental artweek all 120 pupils at Woodborough Primary school took part in weaving and adding wishes to this 2 metre tall willow man.

  Children of the Light
A combined arts project with Ade Morris, playwrite and director, at The Watermill Theatre, Newbury. Children from 6 village schools were involved, creating and performing a play about children's experiences of war. They also worked with Julieann on this visual arts installation consisting of 6 small suitcases full of special thoughts, memories and figurines which Julieann made into a multi media installation within a black felt tent with a soundtrack of children whispering nursey rhymes.
 
Ella``s Angel
Julieann was commissioned by the V&A (Victoria & Albert Museum, London) to design a tapestry inspired by the work of Morris & Co. and to weave it live in front of thousands of visitors during the blockbuster William Morris exhibition in 1996. She also ran public and schools tapestry workshops at the museum and as part of an international museums education conference.
